    What are Biomesotherapy and Biopuncture?

    Biopuncture is one of the healing tools of Biomesotherapy, which consists of the use of homoeopathic products at the same time as the stimulation of specific points in the body by injection of a homeopathic FDA approved sterile solution. Most of these injections are given under the skin or in the muscles on or near pain trigger points and at specific acupuncture points. This treatment may be complemented by homeopathic formulas taken orally for a certain period of time. Although these products have been used in Germany (and many other European countries) for decades, the name Biomesotherapy came into use about ten years ago. This field of treatment is based on the principles of Homotoxicology.

    How effective is Biomesotherapy/Biopuncture?

    Clinical trials have been carried out comparing the responses of patients prescribed Heel medicines and Biomesotherapy to those of patients using cortisone based pain medicine. In each of the trials the Biomesotherapy produced a comparable reduction in pain to cortisone over a 10 week period.

    Biomesotherapy does not produce side effects.


    Homotoxicology

    What is Homotoxicology?

    Homotoxicology was founded in 1952 from Dr Reckeweg as an extension of classic Homoeopathy. It is the area of study that is based on the belief that diseases are caused by toxins originating inside or outside the body. Examples of external toxins are bacteria, metals such as mercury, micro-organisms in the gut, hormone replacement therapy, antibiotics and chemical pollutants. Internal toxins are generated by the body. They are either are biologically derived, or result from post-traumatic cellular debris.

    Homotoxicological products are designed to facilitate the body’s elimination of toxins. It generally uses formulations which contain measurable amounts of homoeopathically prepared active ingredients and are used to treat specific conditions. They are often presented to the body in the same dilution ratio as inter cellular fluids. Homotoxicological treatment has been used successfully in chronic diseases, inflammatory conditions, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies and food intolerances.


    Treatments

    What is involved in a treatment program?

    Firstly an initial consultation is necessary to discuss the nature of the presenting problem. Then, depending on factors unique to each individual case, a treatment plan is prescribed. This may typically include 15-20 minute combination Biopuncture/Acupuncture treatments at weekly intervals for up to 10 weeks, and one or more Homotoxicological medicines to be taken concurrently. Dietary and exercises issues may also be discussed and appropriate programmes initiated with you.
